Rising seas is one of those climate change effects. Average sea levels have swelled over 8 inches (about 23 cm) since 1880, with about three of those inches gained in the last 25 years. Every year, the sea rises another .13 inches (3.2 mm.) New research published on February 15, 2022, shows that sea level rise is accelerating and projected to rise by a foot by 2050 according to National Geographic.

Consequences

More frequent and intense drought, storms, heat waves, rising sea levels, melting glaciers and warming oceans can directly harm animals, destroy the places they live, and wreak havoc on people's livelihoods and communities. As climate change worsens, dangerous weather events are becoming more frequent or severe.

ABOUT US

We are a group of high schoolers that live in the Bay Area. We realized that many people know about global warming but don't realize how big of a problem global warming is. As a result, we created this page to raise awareness for this global issue and to allow people to collaborate to come up with solutions for everyday problems global warming causes. We believe that through adversity come solutions.
